      Made it to Berlin. Our first place is by Planufer Strand, and has a lovely Terrasse. We got a few groceries, drank a beer in the street on the way home, & a small dinner before bed.

            Or maybe some of the tons of street art. We’ve been told we’re in a “rough” area, and there’s definitely a lot of trash graffiti too. But it feels like #eastvan

                          The street life here in Berlin is great. Our apartment is by the Landwehr Canal, and the Admirals Bridge is a place where people sit and hang out. Same for this grassy slope a little further on, which is filled with swans during the day.

                                We’re heading to Rotterdam for 5 days tomorrow. We went to Wedding, the neighbourhood we’ll be staying in when we get back. The Flop Cafe is a pretty chill place. Ate a Halloumi Bowl for lunch.

                                              Went out for a southern German meal at Alpenstueck alpenstueck.de/ last night with Canadians & some Scotsmen. Giant portions! My meal pictured: gaspachio with basil sorbet and then Maultaschen with salad.

                                                        Oh yeah, we had breakfast out for the first time yesterday. It’s an ice cream shop / cafe, Eisladen Kibo. This is a pretty typical German cold breakfast — LOTS of meat & cheese, and fresh buns.
